In the beginning of 1994, six musiciands from the eastern part of Germany(cities of Berlin and Schwerin) get together and form the band Rammstein. These musicians are: Richard Kruspe(Guitarist), Paul Landers(Guitarist), Till Lindemann(Vocals), Flake Lorenz(Keyboards), Oliver Riedel(Bass), and Christoph Schneider(Drums).
Ramms+ein was initiated by Richard Kruspe, who brought Christpoh Schneider and Oliver Riedel along for the ride. Soon after, Landers, Lorenz, and Lindemann joined up and completed the band that we know today.
Ramms+ein sings on with German label MotorMusic(the German branch of Polygram records), and produced the album "Herzeleid"(Heartache) in March of that year. "Herzeleid" was done in conjunction with Jacob Hellner, who would later do a number of remixes for Ramms+ein singles/maxis.
"Herzeleid" was not the first Rammstein CD to be released. Though it was produced later, the single "Du riechst so gut"(You smell so good) was released in August of '95. "Herzeleid" was later released in September of the same year.
Ramms+ein goes on to do a number of shows including a 15 stop tour with Project Pitchfork, several shows with Clawfinger, and their first headliner tour.
The "Seemann"(Sailor) single is released in January of 1996, and continue touring with Clawfinger, The Ramones, DJ KOM, Farmer Boys, Mink Stole and many others.
In August of '96, David Lynch adds the songs "Heirate Mich" and "Rammstein" to the soundtrack for his new movie, "Lost Highway".
Ramms+ein returns to the studio to record/produce "Sehnsucht", their second album, once again with Jacob Hellner in November 1996.
The first single from "Sehnsucht", entitled "Engel"(Angel) is released in April of 1997 and is an immediate hit. It goes gold in May of '97, and triggers the release of the remix "Engel - Fan Edition" single, containing two unreleased tracks: "Wilder Wein", and "Feuerraeder".
The second single from "Sehnsucht", "Du Hast" is released in July of 1997. And the Album "Sehnsucht" is FINALLY released shortly thereafter. It quickly rises to rank 1 in the german music charts.
In November of 1997, Ramms+ein releases "Das Modell", a Kraftwerk work. It contains two unreleased tracks and a Ramms+ein computer game.
From there on out, Ramms+ein has gone on to release the "Du Riechst so gut '98" single, containing remixes of the song by Faith No More, KMFDM, Bobo I.W.W.H., and Jacob Hellner. They continued to tour Germany, and even made their first steps out of Europe and did 8 shows as support for KMFDM.
